La endoscopia digestiva en Pediatría consiguió cambios importantes en el diagnóstico, comprensión y terapéutica de las enfermedades del tubo digestivo y sus glándulas anexas. Cuando la endoscopia pediátrica es utilizada como terapéutica, puede salvar vidas y evitar conductas quirúrgicas. Su indicación oportuna es útil en la identificación de lesiones en más del 95% y puede ser realizada a cualquier edad
