Discription

Writing Style and Standards in Undergraduate Engineering Reports, Fourth Edition, provides students with guidance for models of experimental reporting and fully explains how they might produce such reports using their own data. The book presents models that represent the full diversity of experimental engineering reports; examples range from simple industrial testing documents to complex research reports. All examples in Parts 1 & 2 of the text resemble student reports so students will have familiar examples of undergraduate level results that are reported as concisely, concretely and specifically as possible. The book focuses on the formats for short and long reports and a capstone report. Comprehensive guidance is also presented on the the proper methods for including illustrations, graphs, tables, spreadsheets, and equations. New to the Fourth Edition are sections devoted to an undergraduate research report, effective use of the Engineering library, and integrating graphics into written documents. The book also provides instruction on the design and delivery of visual and oral presentations students may need to make in their undergraduate careers, such as slide presentations, exhibits, and posters. Part 3 of the text, Writing on the Job, provides complete coverage of the communication skills students will need in the workplace.
