When Spicata, Taraxa and his wife Inula are swept into a hole in the ice, they are captured underwater by one of the Cretins working for the Pirandelves. Turis is distantly related to Gelf Spicata, and so he spares them and releases the group at the Volcanic Palace, knowing the White Sage who lives there will give them shelter in their quest to reach the safety of Santopolis far across Frozen Lake.
