The third edition of Recreation Therapy With Individuals Living in the Community: An Inclusive Approach reflects the changing nature of health care, health and human services, and our professional focus. This book provides an overview of the process, referred to as APIED (assessment, plan, implement, evaluate, document), used to design, deliver, and evaluate services that fully incorporate all participants. The authors have taught at the higher education level. They have also held positions in nonprofit and public agencies in outdoor settings and community therapeutic recreation with individuals of all ages and abilities, as well as have had broad-based experience in the parks and recreation profession. This book is designed for recreation therapy, recreation, and health and human service professionals who provide services to all community residents. It is also useful for introductory and programming courses in recreation therapy and recreation and that address inclusion.
