The Short-term Insurance Act 53 of 1998 provides for a legal framework for the regulation of conduct of business supervision of short-term insurers in the Republic, that is consistent, to the extent practicable, with international standards for insurance regulation and supervision; for the control of certain activities of short-term insurers and intermediaries; and for matters connected therewith.
