The Divorce Act 70 of 1979 makes provision for the law relating to divorce and incidental matters. ** The Jurisdiction of Regional Courts Amendment Act 31 of 2008 makes provision for the amendment of the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1944, to confer on courts for regional divisions jurisdiction in respect of certain civil disputes, and for matters connected therewith. ** The Mediation in Certain Divorce Matters Act 24 of 1987 makes provision for mediation in certain divorce proceedings, and in certain applications arising from such proceedings, in which minor or dependent children of the marriage are involved, to safeguard the interests of such children and for matters connected therewith. ** The Dissolution of Marriages on Presumption of Death Act 23 of 1979 makes provision for the dissolution of marriages of persons presumed to be dead.
